Set in Malaysia in the fifties, the action is centred
around the Communist uprising when British plantations blazed. Against this
background of guerrilla warfare a beautiful and dramatic story unfolds as East
meets West. A white planter, a beautiful Chinese freedom fighter, and a civil
war make strange bedfellows, and 50 years had to elapse before this love story
could be told-a very flexi-budget movie that should sell well world wide.
Should attract an Oriental/Occidental co-production deal.
