Rani ©
Lakshmibai, the Rani of Jhansi raised a great rebellion in 1857 against the ever oppressive and onerous British rule. The British Empire was at its peak and justice had failed to prevail throughout the entire Indian continent. In 1854 when her husband died, the British Raj annexed Jhansi dispossessing her. Then when the Indian army mutinied in the province, she was made the scapegoat for the rebellion. The third occasion came when the British, realising her popularity, blackened her name and reputation. Now resentful, she turned against them.

Leading a gigantic army, she declared war, a woman unique for her time, she led at the head, fighting hand to hand with such valour that even the British grudgingly admired her. Victory after victory was hers until she was mortally wounded in battle, thus ending the great Indian uprising.

An inspiring story with universal appeal that crosses the Occidental and Oriental cultures. This is a movie that will sell well both East and West. With a budget of $8million, over 50% ($4million) have been pledged immediately from Eastern backers.

With Indian know-how and the skills of the Indian film industry, Rani could be in production this year, 2003.

Humour

Hellsbells©
The most politically incorrect movie that could be destined to hit the screens in years. Every tabboo in the politically correct world is broken and the author admits that the likleyhood of it ever being taken up is zilch, although Eastern Europe loves the script, not giving a fig for PC!

So Angels, do you dare risk it? Hellsbells is from the pen of the author of the outrageous 'Sacre Bleu' that was front page on The Hollywood Reporter. There hasn't been a script like it since Springtime With Hitler was written into The Producers, the Mel Brooks classic. Currently written in book form only.

Its director, Jane Spencer, is faced with diminishing revenue as theatre attendances fall. Jane Spencer is an aficionado of  Shakespeare which is highly unsuitable to a Yorkshire country town. Disregarding the advice of her colleagues, she persists in her endeavours. Eventually the Board rebels, and demands her resignation, placing an American director, one Michael Brandt whose speciality is comical farce - far more suited to Biggleston!

Arnold and Brian take a new interest in the revived theatre, but their continuous involvement arouses suspicions from their wives.
